Community FocusedAt Thunder Bay Physiotherapy, we are very proud to be a supporter of numerous local sporting events throughout the city of Thunder Bay, as well as being the exclusive physiotherapy providers to a variety of organizations: Thunder Bay Chill Soccer ClubThe Thunder Bay Chill S.C. is a premier men's soccer team that plays in the PDL division of the USL. Our Physiotherapists along with our Kinesiologist have an extensive background in soccer and have been active volunteers for the Thunder Bay Chill since 2000. We not only provide medical coverage for all Chill home games, but we provide physiotherapy services through our clinic exclusively for the players and staff of the team. SSSAA/OFSAA High School SportsDue to our close affiliation with our local school system, our clinic helps provide medical coverage for many high school sports. Thunder Bay Physiotherapy provides this service to local SSSAA high school athletic competitions such as Junior and Senior Boys Football, and Cheerleading competitions. However, we were also responsible for the organization and implementation of the emergency response program and medical coverage for the Provincial High School Soccer Championships in 2005, and the Provincial High School Cross Country Running Championships in 2006. In addition to providing on-site care, our clinic also exclusively treats many of the young high school athletes throughout the school year. Baseball Canada CupThunder Bay Physiotherapy was the exclusive physiotherapy provider for the staff and players involved in the Baseball Canada Cup in 2004. This National tournament involved teams from each province made up of players aged 16-17 years. Our dedicated team offered off-field services for injured players such as acute care, taping, and rehabilitation to enable the young athletes an opportunity to get scouted. |
